The Amal Movement and Hezbollah announced on Friday the martyrdom of 5 of their members in clashes with the Israeli army in southern Lebanon.

The Amal Movement mourned in a statement its members: “Ali Issa from the town of Jabshit (born in 1971), Muhammad Saeed from the town of Al-Qasiba (born in 1995), and Qasim Nizar Berro from the town of Al-Sharqiya (born in 1996).”

The official Lebanese News Agency reported that 3 Amal members were martyred in an Israeli raid on a house in the town of Qantara, south of Lebanon last night.

For its part, Hezbollah announced the martyrdom of two of its members in confrontations with the Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah announced that its members “ascended as martyrs on the path to Jerusalem,” offering no further details.

This brings the number of martyrs of the Amal Movement, led by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, to 11, and the number of martyrs of Hezbollah to 202 since the start of the confrontations in southern Lebanon on October 8 of last year.

Last night, the Lebanese News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes raided homes in the towns of Naqoura, Jabal al-Labouneh, Alma al-Shaab, Tayr Harfa and Yarin in the western region, causing severe damage to property and crops.

The outskirts of the town of Aita al-Shaab were also subjected to direct artillery shelling, according to the same source.
