A Palestinian young man was killed, and seven others were injured, during an Israeli military raid into Jenin and its refugee camp, in the northern West Bank, overnight and at dawn Wednesday.
Local sources affirmed that the young man, Arif Al-Qaddoumi, from the town of Kafr Qaddum in Qalqilya, was killed during the military raid after he was besieged in a house in the Jenin camp.
Seven other citizens were also injured during the raid, one of them suffered from serious head injuries.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) pointed out that four gunshot injuries and three bullet fragment injuries were reported during the Jenin raid, which led to the outbreak of violent clashes.
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) also prevented the PRCS ambulances from reaching the injured.
According to Sanad News Agency; Israeli warplanes twice bombed a besieged house inside the Jenin camp.
The IOF also carried out extensive demolition and sabotage operations against infrastructure in the city of Jenin, especially the main streets near the Jenin refugee camp.
At least seven youths were detained during the IOF raid, while locals affirmed that the IOF used civilians as human shields in the Jenin camp.
The IOF stormed Jenin late yesterday and conducted a large-scale military campaign, carrying out extensive destruction of infrastructure and citizens’ property.
