The Political Bureau Chairman of Hamas, Ismail Haneyya, confirmed that what the Israeli occupation and the US could not achieve on the ground, will not be achieved through political machinations.

This came in his speech on Wednesday at the conference launching the annual report of Al-Quds International Foundation, stressing that the Palestinian resistance met the Israeli aggression with historical valor despite the power imbalance.

He pointed out that the resistance has foiled the Israeli enforced displacement plans against Palestinians in Gaza City and northern Gaza, highlighting that 700,000 people are still residing in these areas.

The Hamas leader stressed that the resistance will persist in its battles against the occupation until it is defeated, hailing the resistance for “being able to engage in fierce battles after 145 days of the genocidal war in which the Zionist occupier is carrying out the most horrific crimes known to humanity, including murder, extermination, displacement, torture, field executions, attacking hospitals and premature babies, starvation and assaulting humanitarian and media teams.”

Haneyya called on the Arab and Islamic nation to foil the starvation war against the Palestinian people in Gaza and North Gaza. He appreciated the initiatives to provide relief aid to the trapped residents in these areas and stressed the need to allow a sustainable entry of aid and food supplies to the Gaza population and to build aid bridges that would end their suffering and save them from the starvation conspiracy.

The Hamas leader explained that the resistance fought the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood in defense of Jerusalem and to deter Israeli attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

He stressed that “the minimum that we accept in Al-Aqsa Mosque and other Islamic and Christian sanctities is adherence to the status quo in accordance with international law which stipulates the continuation of the status of the sanctities as they were before June 4, 1967.”

Haneyya called on the Arab and Muslim nations to participate in confronting the Israeli aggression. He also appealed to the Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem, the West Bank and 1948 Occupied Palestine to visit Al-Aqsa Mosque from day one of the holy month of Ramadan, to perform prayers and break the siege on the holy Islamic site.
