The spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qudra, announced on Wednesday evening, that a 15-year-old child had died in Al-Shifa Medical Complex as a result of malnutrition and dehydration.
Al-Qudra also declared, in a brief statement, the martyrdom of an elderly man (72 years old) in Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza as a result of malnutrition and drought.
This brings the death toll from malnutrition and drought in the Gaza Strip to 20 martyrs, he added.
The announced figure is only the number of those who were admitted in hospitals, whereas dozens of others have been dying silently as a result of starvation without ever reaching hospitals, he highlighted.
Earlier, Al-Qudra announced the martyrdom of a 15-year-old girl at Al-Shifa Medical Complex as a result of malnutrition and dehydration, warning that famine in northern Gaza had reached fatal stages, especially for children, pregnant women, and those with chronic diseases.
Al-Qudra said, the famine is deepening and will claim the lives of thousands of citizens if the aggression is not stopped, and the humanitarian and medical aid is not immediately brought into the besieged Strip.
He charged Israeli occupation forces of deliberately committing horrific and successive massacres against thousands of hungry people in northern Gaza.
He called on the international community to push for an immediate ceasefire, appealing to the UN to take urgent measures to prevent the humanitarian and health catastrophe, especially in northern Gaza.
