Two citizens were martyred and others were injured on Wednesday morning in an Israeli drone strike that targeted a vehicle, setting it on fire in southern Lebanon.

The official Lebanese News Agency said, “Initial information indicates that a Palestinian man was martyred inside the car that was hit by a hostile drone on Al-Hosh road in Tyre.”

“Another man of Syrian nationality was also martyred as he was passing by on a motorcycle at the time of the attack, in addition to two unidentified wounded people,” it added.

Earlier, Lebanese media reported that an Israeli strike targeted a tourist vehicle at Al-Hosh Junction in Tyre, and that “ambulance teams managed to recover a body from inside the car.”

Meanwhile, Israeli aircraft launched two airstrikes on Al-Labouneh and Muruj Al-Humaid area in Alma Al-Shaab, accompanied by artillery shelling in the area.

Palestinian sources reported that the martyr was identified as Hadi Mustafa from the Rashidiya camp in Lebanon, noting that he is a member of Hamas Movement.

For his part, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib said that the government will file a complaint against Israel at the UN Security Council for targeting civilians in the vicinity of the city of Baalbek.

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry said that the escalation in areas far from the southern border indicates Israel’s desire to expand the conflict and drag the region into war.

The Ministry called on the international community to put pressure on Israel to halt its ongoing and escalating attacks.

Since October 8, hundreds of Lebanese have been martyred in Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, amid a state of escalating tension in the border area, following the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the region.
