The Hamas Movement said the Israeli occupation army’s storming of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in western Gaza at dawn Monday was an expression of confusion and chaos, demanding the protection of the remaining medical facilities in the Strip.
The Movement said in a statement on Monday, “The criminal Zionist occupation army has committed a new crime this dawn raiding Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City and its vicinity by directly targeting the hospital buildings showing no regard to the patient, medical staff, and the displaced.”
Hamas said the raid on Al-Shifa hospital was an expression of confusion, chaos and hopelessness by the Israeli army amid its inability to achieve the stated military goals.
It slammed the international community and the United Nations for giving the “Israeli occupation army the green light to continue its war of genocide and ethnic cleansing against our people in the Gaza Strip.”
Hamas reiterated its call on the International Committee of the Red Cross, the World Health Organization, and other relevant international institutions to fulfill their responsibilities to protect the remaining medical facilities in the Strip, and to document the Israeli crimes against the medical sector, which is protected under the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law.
Israeli occupation forces launched a new raid on Gaza City’s Al-Shifa hospital on Monday, storming it with tanks, heavily armed soldiers, and drones under the cover of heavy shooting and bombardment inside the complex, sparking fear and panic among the wounded, sick and displaced.
