The Hamas Movement praised on Friday the rejection of the US draft resolution in the UN Security Council calling for, but not demanding, an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Hamas said in a statement, “The US draft resolution contained misleading language and was complicit with the goals of the criminal Zionist enemy, enabling it to continue its aggression, and giving it cover and legitimacy for its war of annihilation it is committing against our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”
Hamas expressed its appreciation of the positions of Russia, China and Algeria who rejected the US position biased to the Israeli aggression, demanding an urgent humanitarian and immediate halt to the Israeli war of extermination that has been ongoing for more than five months.
The United Nations Security Council has failed to pass a United States draft resolution calling for, but not demanding, a ceasefire in Israel’s continuing war on Gaza after Russia and China chose to veto it.
