The Hamas Movement said on Monday it welcomed a UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and that it stood ready to engage in an immediate swap of prisoners with Israel.
Hamas welcomes the United Nations Security Council’s call today for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the Movement said.
“We also affirm our readiness to engage in an immediate prisoner exchange process that leads to the release of prisoners on both sides,” it added.
The resolution passed on Monday demands an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian resistance, as well as the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, after the United States abstained from the vote.
