Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out overnight on Friday a large-scale arrest campaign in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, resulting in the arrest of 25 Palestinians including children, former prisoners and a woman.
The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) stated, “The arrest operations were concentrated in occupied Jerusalem after thousands headed to perform Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque, while the rest of the arrests were distributed among the governorates of Al-Khalil, Nablus, Tulkarem, and Qalqilya.”
The PPS highlighted that, “the total number of arrests since October 7 has risen to about 7,870 male and female detainees including those who were arrested from homes or at military checkpoints, those who were forced to turn themselves in under pressure, and those who were held hostage.”
“The unprecedentedly escalating arrest campaigns in the West Bank come within the framework of the comprehensive aggression against the Palestinian people and the ongoing genocide taking place in Gaza since October 7 against children, women, the elderly and the sick,” the PPS added.
