Since Tuesday evening until Wednesday morning, Israeli occupation forces have arrested at least 30 Palestinian citizens in the West Bank, including journalist Asmaa Harb and the mother of the martyr Ahmed Hilal Ghithan, in addition to former prisoners.

The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners Society said in a joint statement on Wednesday that “arrest campaigns focused on the governorates of Jerusalem and Ramallah, while the rest of the arrests were distributed in the governorates of Al-Khalil, Bethlehem, Tubas, Jenin, Qalqilya, and Jericho.” Furthermore, Israeli occupation forces arrested a number of workers from Gaza in Ramallah.

The statement pointed out that the occupation continues to “carry out wide-scale incursions and destruction operations in the West Bank cities, refugee camps, and towns, accompanied by acts of sabotage in the homes of citizens, in addition to brutal beatings against detainees and their families.”

The statement confirmed that “the number of arrests after the seventh of October last year has reached more than 7,990, and this number includes those who were arrested from their homes, at military checkpoints, under pressure, and those who were taken as hostages.”

It noted that “the ongoing and escalating arrest campaigns come within the framework of the comprehensive aggression against our people and the ongoing genocide in Gaza after the seventh of October, which targeted all categories including children, women, the elderly, and the sick in an unprecedented manner.”
