The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has accused Israel of persisting in obstructing and preventing the entry of basic humanitarian supplies into the Gaza Strip, especially to the north and Gaza City, and targeting “life-saving aid distribution operations,” warning that such an Israeli practice threatens to exacerbate and deepen the widespread famine in the war-torn coastal enclave.
In a statement on Saturday, Euro-Med said that the limited aid distributions throughout Gaza claimed the lives of 28 children, who died of hunger and malnutrition.
Euro-Med stressed that Israel continues to violate its international obligations as an occupying power and ignore recent international resolutions, including the decisions taken by the international Court of Justice that demanded it to take the necessary and effective measures in cooperation with the UN to ensure that aid enters Gaza without obstacles and without further delay.
