The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Tuesday that the past 200 days of the Israeli war on Gaza had left “destruction everywhere and massive damage to vital infrastructure” in the besieged Strip.
The United Nations organization explained in a post on X, with a video showing the extent of the massive destruction in Gaza, that after 200 days of the aggression, “destruction is everywhere in Gaza, adding that “the damage to vital infrastructure is enormous. More than one million people lost their homes and 75 percent of the population was displaced.”
“It will take years to remove the debris resulting from the ongoing Israeli bombing of the Strip for more than half a year,” UNRWA said.
The UN organization stressed that “ceasefire is the only remaining hope” to save the residents of the blockaded coastal enclave.
For 200 days, starting on October 7, 2023, Israel has launched a brutal aggression against Gaza with the US support, leaving about 112,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, in addition to unprecedented famine and massive destruction, according to Palestinian and UN data.
The Israeli occupation army has been continuing its offensive against Gaza, in violation of the UN Security Council’s immediate ceasefire resolution, and the ruling of the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.
