Sheikh Kamal al-Khatib, deputy head of the Islamic Movement in 1948 occupied Palestine, has called on Muslim worshipers to keep frequenting Al-Aqsa Mosque in defense of the holy site against Israeli raids and violations.

Al-Khatib sent a message to the Palestinians on behalf of the people of 1948 occupied Palestine, urging them not to give up their duty to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque in the face of the ongoing and escalating Israeli incursions and attacks on the Mosque and the calls for the slaughter of sacrifices.

“You must maintain the honor you had, and you must maintain your pledge towards Al-Aqsa Mosque and strengthen the steadfastness of the people of Jerusalem,” Al-Khatib said.

Sheikh al-Khatib warned that Al-Aqsa is going through a critical stage in which the Israeli occupation police are tightening the noose on the Palestinian people and intensifying raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection and support of the USA and the normalization policy by some Arab countries.

Meanwhile, more than 700 Israeli settlers stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday morning, to mark the second day of “The Passover” Jewish holiday.

The police dispersed press crews who were covering the settlers’ incursions into the Mosque at Bab al-Silsilah. The police reportedly arrested some residents after checking their ID cards at King Faisal Gate.

The settlers carried out provocative tours in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and performed Talmudic rituals in its eastern side as well as in the area opposite the Dome of the Rock.

The Hamas Movement called on Palestinian masses throughout the West Bank, Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied Palestine to mobilize, visit Al-Aqsa, and to stay in its buildings and courtyards until Monday, in protection and defense of the holy site against Israeli desecration and Judaization plans.

The Movement indicated that the groups of the alleged temple are planning to desecrate the courtyards of Al-Aqsa by performing sacrificial rituals inside the holy site on Sunday and Monday, stressing the need to strongly confront these attempts aiming at undermining the sanctity of the Mosque.
