Ezzat Al-Resheq, member of the Political Bureau of Hamas, said on Thursday that Israel’s invasion of Rafah and occupation of the Rafah crossing aim to obstruct the mediation efforts and escalate the aggression and the war of extermination.
Resheq affirmed in a press release that Hamas is committed to its position of accepting the proposal put forward by the mediators.
The Hamas leader added that the Movement’s delegation left Cairo a short while ago en route to Doha.
Hamas had earlier announced its acceptance of the Egyptian-Qatari ceasefire proposal, while the Israeli occupation government showed stubbornness towards the proposal and continues to escalate its aggression on the Gaza Strip by invading the city of Rafah despite international warnings about the danger of the attack.
