Kuwait Hospital: Fuel is running out, real catastrophe in the offing

Friday 10-May-2024

The director of the Kuwait Hospital in Rafah, Suhaib al-Hams, has warned in a statement on Thursday evening of a real catastrophe in Rafah, in the southernmost tip of the Gaza Strip, within the few coming days.

He said in a press statement that fuel is running out and whatever is left could barely meet the hospital’s needs for the coming three days.

He appealed to the international organizations to immediately intervene to save the Rafah Governorate from a health disaster.

“We are working with the minimal requirements of what is needed in a hospital and we lack enough staff to deal with the catastrophic conditions in Rafah,” al-Hamas underlined.

The hospital director pointed out that the quantity of internationally-banned missiles that fall on Rafah is big, calling on the World Health Organization to act immediately to save the hospitals in Rafah.

The overcrowded city of Rafah has come under intensified Israeli artillery and aerial bombardment over the past two days that was coupled with Israeli closure of the Rafah Crossing restricting the entry of fuel and aid trucks.
