BOGOTA, (PIC)
Colombian President Gustavo Petro called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Netanyahu would not stop the genocide, which necessitates the issuance of an arrest warrant against him from ICC,” Petro wrote in a post on X.
He said, “The Security Council must begin thinking deeply about establishing a peacekeeping force in the Gaza Strip” which is being subjected to devastating Israeli aggression.
Colombia has officially announced severing its diplomatic relations with Israel, due to its continued attacks on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Since October 7,2023, the Israeli occupation forces have been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, resulting in tens of thousands of martyrs, wounded and missing, in addition to the displacement of two million people and a massive destruction of homes and infrastructure that affected more than 70% of the buildings, amid a tight siege and a stifling humanitarian crisis, and an unprecedented famine, especially in Gaza and its north.
