The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired on a clearly marked UN vehicle in Rafah in southern Gaza, killing one member of the UN’s Department of Safety and Security and injuring another.
The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza has condemned the Israeli army for killing a foreign UN employee and injuring another staffer in Rafah while they were riding in a UN vehicle.
“They were targeted while they were riding in a UN vehicle bearing the UN flag,” a statement from the Office said.
The statement demanded “an end to the war of genocide” and blamed the US administration for Israel’s “war crimes.”
Screengrabs from a video circulated on social media showed heavy damage to a clearly marked UN vehicle after it came under fire by Israeli forces.
The UN confirmed a short while ago that this attack killed the organization’s first foreign staff member in Israel’s war on Gaza.
