The Hamas Movement called on the international community and the UN Security Council to take immediate practical measures to halt the escalating Israeli aggression against the city of Rafah in southern Gaza Strip.
This came as Rafah city is being exposed to random Israeli bombardment against homes and tents of the displaced people as well as civil defense teams, leading to the martyrdom of dozens of civilians, most of them women and children, amid escalating waves of displacement.
Hamas said, in a press statement on Tuesday, that the UN Security Council must stand up to its legal and moral responsibilities vis-à-vis Israel’s defiance of the International Court of Justice’s ruling which stipulated immediate cessation of the aggression on the city.
The Palestinian resistance movement warned of the worsening humanitarian and health catastrophe in Rafah, as the Israeli occupation army has been persisting in targeting hospitals and healthcare centers, knocking most of them out of service as part of its escalating genocide war on the Strip for more than seven months.
