Foreign ministers from Jordan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt held a virtual meeting on Monday to discuss the developments of mediation efforts aimed at concluding a ceasefire in Gaza, calling for halting the Israeli aggression, ending the humanitarian catastrophe, returning the displaced to their areas, the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Strip and starting reconstruction.

In a joint statement concluding the meeting, the foreign ministers of the above mentioned five Arab countries, reiterated their support of mediation efforts and urged the warring parties in Gaza to accept the ceasefire deal proposed by US President Joe Biden, urging both sides to engage with the proposal “seriously and positively”.

The meeting primarily aimed at discussing the mediation efforts undertaken by Egypt and Qatar to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, where Israel continues to push on with its genocidal war on civilians.

The ministers stressed that the implementation of a two-state solution is the right way to achieve security and peace in the region.
