Gaza’s health ministry has called on the countries currently meeting at the International Conference for Emergency Humanitarian Response in Gaza to save the beleaguered enclave.

The ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra said in a brief statement on Tuesday that his ministry calls on the conference, “to take concrete and urgent measures to save the Gaza Strip, which was destroyed by Israel, on the humanitarian and health levels.”

The international conference was launched at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center in the Dead Sea region, west of Jordan, at the invitation of the Jordanian King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres.

World leaders, heads of governments, chiefs of humanitarian and relief organizations participated in the one-day conference which is being held in light of the catastrophic circumstances and the unprecedented humanitarian crisis that resulted from the Israeli genocide war on the Gaza Strip.

The conference has three sessions, the first addresses bringing in humanitarian aid to Gaza, the second is allocated for discussing the ways to overcome the challenges facing safe aid delivery and the protection of civilians in the Strip, and the third session discusses priorities of early recovery which would take about 80 years according to the United Nations that estimated last month the cost of Gaza reconstruction at about $ 40 billion.
