PRCS says it has no fuel to operate 36 percent of its ambulance fleet

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has said that 18 ambulances, or 36 percent of its current fleet, have stopped operating in the Gaza Strip because of the fuel crisis.

In a statement posted on X on Thursday, PRCS said “it has not received its daily share of fuel from UNRWA for about eight days.”

“This share previously covered only six percent of the operational capacity of the ambulances, as the Israeli occupation has prevented fuel from entering the Gaza Strip,” PRCS added.

“As a result, PRCS warns of a decline in its ability to provide ambulance and emergency services in the coming days due to this fuel shortage, with the Israeli occupation continuing to keep the Rafah border crossing closed for about 52 days.”
