Gaza’s ministry of health warned on Thursday that in a few hours, the power generators at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, will stop working due to the lack of fuel.

The Nasser Hospital is the only remaining main hospital that provides patients with medical services in Khan Yunis and Rafah after the Gaza European Hospital stopped working on Monday following Israeli evacuation orders, the ministry said.

The ministry appealed to all international and humanitarian institutions to intervene urgently to provide it with the fuel supplies needed to operate the generators.

In a related context, the Government Media Office (GMO) warned that the Nasser Hospital would face a humanitarian tragedy after its fuel supplies ran out.

In a statement on Thursday, GMO held the Israeli occupation regime, the US administration and all relevant parties fully responsible for any disaster that may occur at any moment at the Nasser Hospital, affirming that many patients, especially those receiving intensive care, could die if the hospital’s electric generators stopped working.

GMO called on the international community and its organizations to urgently supply Gaza’s hospitals, especially the Nasser Hospital, with their fuel needs to save thousands of lives.
