Dozens of Palestinians have been wounded on Friday during fierce clashes with Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and fanatic settlers in different parts of the West Bank.

In Ramallah Governorate, Palestinians confronted dozens of Israeli fanatic settlers who attacked Um Safa town, north of Ramallah city.

Local sources reported that dozens of Jewish settlers from the Ateret settlement, that was illegally established over the lands of Um Safa, stormed the outskirts of the town, cut water lines, and sabotaged Palestinian property before the citizens confronted them and forced them to withdraw. The IOF soldiers fired bullets as well as stun and tear gas grenades towards the young men, with no injuries reported, the sources added.

Meanwhile, a Palestinian elderly man sustained injuries this afternoon in an assault by Israeli settlers and troops in Masafer Yatta district and the city of Al-Khalil in the southern occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

The sources explained that extremist settlers attacked Lesfeir hamlet in Masafer Yatta, south of Al-Khalil, where they physically assaulted the elderly Mahmoud Abu Qubeita, causing him injuries and bruises. The settlers also vandalized properties belonging to local residents.

In Al-Khalil, IOF soldiers stationed at a military checkpoint at Al-Shuhada Street, assaulted two Palestinians as they attempted to reach their homes in Tel Rumeida neighborhood.

Simultaneously, Israeli forces stormed the nearby town of Beit Ummar, north of Al-Khalil, firing live ammunition and tear gas canisters towards the homes of citizens.

Meanwhile, several Palestinians suffocated on Friday afternoon during confrontations with the IOF near Jabal Sbaih in the town of Beita, south of Nablus.

According to eyewitnesses, confrontations broke out following a military incursion into Jabal Sbaih, amid firing of live and rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades and tear gas bombs, which led to the suffocation of several people.

Residents of the town of Beita performed Friday prayer at Jabal Sbaih following calls by the town’s factional coordination committee.

The Israeli Cabinet has recently approved the legalization of the illegal settlement outpost of Evyatar which is built atop of Jabal Sbaih, along with four other illegal outposts in the West Bank.

Jabal Sbaih belongs to the lands of Beita, Qablan, and Yetma towns, south of Nablus, and has been witnessing peaceful popular resistance rallies in protest at Israeli settlement expansion of the Evyatar outpost.
