The UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said, “50% of UNRWA’s headquarters in the Gaza Strip were destroyed, and more than 500 people were killed while being in our headquarters.”
Lazzarini added in a press statement on Monday that “about 250,000 people were displaced from the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip for the sixth or seventh time based on Israeli instructions,” stressing that there is no safe place in Gaza.
“We are facing the danger that an entire generation will be deprived of education,” Lazzarini stressed, calling for the need to return children to a safe educational environment.
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have been waging a genocide war against the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 38,153 citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 87,828 others, while thousands of victims remain under rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and Civil Defense crews are banned by the IOF from approaching the victims.
