The Civil Defense in Gaza said on Thursday that its crews have recovered more than 60 bodies of martyrs in Al-Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza City, after a two-week-long Israeli ground invasion ended on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Civil Defense confirmed that dozens of martyrs are still under the rubble in Al-Shujaiya neighborhood.
“We have not managed to reach them yet because of the ongoing Israeli raids that are still targeting the neighborhood”, the Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal explained.
He stressed that Al-Shujaiya neighborhood has become an unlivable disaster area after the Israeli occupation army destroyed more than 85% of its buildings.
The Civil Defense indicated that its crews are denied entry into Al-Shujaiya neighborhood to recover the martyrs and trapped people under the rubble due to Israeli relentless airstrikes and ground operations.
