Member of Hamas’s political bureau Ezzat Al-Resheq described Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s attempt to add new demands on ceasefire negotiations as mere procrastination, which indicates that “he is putting hurdles in front of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange negotiations.”

This came in a post published on Hamas’s Telegram channel on Friday, in which Resheq commented on Netanyahu’s allegations on Thursday that “Hamas is adamant on demands that harm Israel’s security.”

Netanyahu stressed that any proposal that would lead to agreement on the current negotiations “must allow Tel Aviv to return to fighting.”

Hamas, however, said in a previous statement that mediators had not informed the Movement with any updates regarding the ceasefire and prisoner exchange negotiations.

The Movement underlined that “Israel has been procrastinating to gain more time to thwart this round of negotiations as it did in previous rounds, which does not fool the Palestinian people and the resistance.”
