A Palestinian elderly woman and a young man were injured in a settler attack in Masafer Yatta in al-Khalil, while other citizens suffered from their exposure to tear gas during clashes yesterday with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in different areas of the West Bank.

According to local sources, a horde of extremist Jewish settlers escorted by soldiers stormed the Bedouin community of Shi’b al-Batim in Masafer Yatta in southern al-Khalil on Saturday afternoon and attacked local residents with sticks and batons, injuring a 55-year-old woman called Wadha an-Najjar and a young man.

Israeli soldiers reportedly kidnaped a local resident called Nizar al-Jabarin as he was trying to ward off the attackers.

Other group of settlers released their flocks of sheep onto Palestinian farms in Susya village in Masafer Yatta, damaging crops, small olive trees and grapevines.

In Tulkarem, Israeli forces stormed last night Izbat al-Tayyah area in the city and patrolled its streets before heading for Dhanabah suburb, which provoked clashes with local youths.

The IOF also raided other neighborhoods of Tulkarem City and fired tear gas canisters at young men during clashes with them. A number of citizens reportedly suffered from inhaling tear gas during the events.

In Bethlehem, Israeli troops stormed al-Deheisha refugee camp and fired tear gas canisters at Palestinian homes on the outskirts of the camp.

In Nablus, Israeli soldiers attacked dozens of Palestinian citizens who performed the Friday prayer on Mount Sobeih in protest at the presence of a settler outpost on the mountain, which overlooks Beita town.

Several citizens suffered from their exposure to tear gas during the clashes with Israeli soldiers on Mount Sobeih and Beita town.

A Palestinian journalist suffered bruises when an IOF tear gas canister struck his helmet as he was covering the events in the town.

In a separate incident, local sources reported that a horde of settlers set fire to an olive grove and attacked Palestinian property in Huwara town, south of Nablus, on Saturday, without providing further details.

Clashes also broke out with Palestinian citizens in the towns of Beit Dajan in eastern Nablus and Kafr Qaddum in eastern Qalqilya after Israeli forces quelled peaceful marches they staged in protest at settlement expansion activities on their lands.
