The Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Party Mustafa Al-Barghouti said on Friday that the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) is a “comprehensive and complete condemnation of Israel, its occupation, settlement, and racist policies that are based on an apartheid system and illegal annexation of the occupied territories, including Jerusalem.”
“The decision of the court forms a solid legal basis for imposing sanctions on Israel and boycotting it for violating international laws,” he wrote in a post on X.
He pointed out that the ICJ decided that the continuation of the occupation is illegal, and Israel must withdraw from the occupied territories, remove settlements, cancel its illegal measures, including the separation wall, compensate the Palestinians for everything that was taken from them, and allowing the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination.
Earlier on Friday, the ICJ held a public session at its headquarters in the Dutch city of The Hague, to announce its advisory opinion in respect to the legal consequences arising from the policies and practices of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967.
