A number of Palestinian citizens were injured, one seriously, in Israeli police attacks on Saturday in Occupied Jerusalem.

According to local sources, Israeli police officers detained a young man at dawn after opening fire at him while he was driving a car in the east Jerusalem district of Issawiya.

The young man reportedly suffered serious bullet injuries.

Six other citizens were also injured when policemen savagely assaulted them in Issawiya. The victims included a 12-year-old child and an elderly woman aged 76. All of them received medical assistance at local hospitals.

Meanwhile, violent clashes broke out last night between Palestinian youths and Israeli police forces in Shuafat refugee camp, northeast of Jerusalem.

Local sources said that the Israeli police intensively fired rubber bullets and tear gas canisters during the events in Shuafat, without stating if anyone was injured.

The Israeli police also extended the detention of three Jerusalemite young men after kidnaping them from the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem in the morning.

In the West Bank, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out raids on homes in Ya’bad town in western Jenin, without making arrests.

The IOF also intensified its security measures and set up checkpoints around the villages of Zibda and Fahma, and the towns of Kafr Ra’iee and Arraba in Jenin, where they intercepted cars and citizens for security checks.

In Ramallah, the IOF kidnaped four young men from the family of Shabana and assaulted others during a campaign in Sinjil town.

The IOF also confiscated 10 cars belonging to local residents in Sinjil.

In a separate incident, a horde of extremist Jewish settlers attacked Palestinian homes and children in Khirbet Tana village in eastern Nablus before local young men intervened and fended them off.
