The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped at dawn Monday a number of Palestinian citizens during raids in the West Bank and Jerusalem, amid clashes in some areas.
According to local sources, the IOF kidnaped seven citizens during raids on homes in al-Dawha town and al-Deheisha refugee camp in Bethlehem province.
Violent clashes reportedly took place between local youths and Israeli soldiers in al-Deheisha camp.
One young man was severely beaten and detained for a while by the IOF in Deheisha camp before he was released.
Two other citizens were taken prisoners following an IOF raid in Beit Fajjar town, south of Bethlehem.
The IOF also kidnaped a young citizen at an IOF checkpoint near Qalqilya City and another one from his home in the suburb of Tulkarem City.
In Nablus, the IOF kidnaped Sheikh Jihad Shahada, a noted religious figure, from his home in Jamma’in town and his son Dawoud after detaining him at al-Marba’ah checkpoint near Tal town.
Meanwhile, resistance fighters opened fire from a speeding car at Israeli security men guarding the illegal settler outpost of Khavat Gil’ad in southern Nablus and withdrew from the area.
In east Jerusalem, local youths clashed with Israeli police forces in Issawiya district.
Local sources said that a large number of police officers stormed Issawiya and embarked on assaulting young men, which provoked clashes in the area.
During the police raid in Issawiya, Israeli forces kidnaped a young man from his home, raided a medical center and showered parked cars and homes with foul-smelling skunk spray.
Israeli police forces also stormed Qalandia refugee camp in east Jerusalem and kidnaped two young men from their homes.
