Thousands of angry Jordanians protested in the vicinity of the Israeli embassy in the capital, Amman, in condemnation of the assassination of the chief of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haneyya, in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

The assassination of Haneyya sparked angry reactions in Jordan at the official, public, and tribal levels. Jordanian political and official parties and forces condemned the assassination of Haneyya along with his companion by targeting his place of residence in Tehran.

The participants in the protest, which was organized by the Islamic Movement and the Resistance Support Forum, chanted slogans for the martyred Hamas leader and for the resistance, demanding revenge for the martyrs.

Most Jordanian governorates and Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan also witnessed massive protest events and marches in condemnation of the assassination crime, raising banners denouncing the assassination and supporting the Palestinian resistance and calling for revenge.

The protesters denounced the Arab and Islamic silence regarding the ongoing genocide the Palestinian people are being subjected to in the Gaza Strip, which has led to Israel’s persistence in its violations leading to the assassination of a prominent Palestinian figure like the martyr Ismail Haneyya.

The protesters affirmed their support for the Palestinian resistance factions, led by the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.

Meanwhile, footage on social media showed the Jordanian security services suppressing the protesters and arresting a number of them.
