The bodies of the head of the Hamas Movement’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya and his bodyguard, the martyr Wassim Abu Shaaban, arrived in Qatar’s capital, Doha, on Thursday afternoon, ahead of his burial on Friday.
The coffins of the two martyrs were received in Doha by a number of Hamas leaders, in addition to members of Haneyya’s family.
The funeral prayer is scheduled to be held after Friday prayers at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque in the Qatari capital.
The martyrs will be buried in the cemetery of the founding Imam in Al-Waseel.
Earlier Thursday, thousands poured into the streets of Tehran to join the funeral procession of Haneyya.
The bodies of Haneyya and his bodyguard, who was killed alongside him in a strike blamed on Israel, were marched amid chants in the capital.
Flags of Palestine and Hamas were seen as organizers handed out posters of Haneyya.
In a vile Zionist raid, the leader Ismail Haneyya rose as a martyr on the path of the martyred leaders who preceded him on the same path, and his words “We will not recognize Israel” have remained immortal throughout history.
