At least 30,000 Palestinian worshipers performed Friday prayer at the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem, despite Israeli restrictions.

According to the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem, around 30,000 Muslims performed the Friday prayer at the holy shrine.

Since the early morning hours, the Israeli police have blocked several roads leading to the Old City of Jerusalem and hindered the movement of Palestinian citizens.

Local sources affirmed that the Israeli forces prevented a number of young men from entering the Aqsa Mosque.

During the Friday sermon, the preacher of Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ikrema Sabri mourned the head of Hamas Movement’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya who was assassinated in an Israeli attack in Tehran.

Following the Friday prayer, tens of thousands of worshipers performed in Aqsa Mosque the absentee funeral prayer for the soul of the martyr Ismail Haneyya.

Mosques across the West Bank also held the absentee funeral prayer for the assassinated leader Ismail Haneyya.
