Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Sunday that the assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haneyya in Tehran “directly undermined the Gaza ceasefire negotiation process and undermined regional peace and stability.”
Wang’s remarks came during a phone conversation with Iran’s acting foreign minister, Ali Bagheri Kani.
Wang repeated Beijing’s condemnation of Haneyya’s assassination in Tehran, saying the strike had violated Iran’s sovereignty and threatened regional stability.
Chinese Foreign Minister also stressed that his country supports Iran in defending its “sovereignty, security and national dignity.”
Israel has killed and wounded more than 131,000 Palestinians since it launched its vicious war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, last year; other than 10,000 missing, vast destruction and widespread famine.
