The Member of Hamas Political Bureau, Muhammad Nazzal, has accused the Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of showing evasion, procrastination, and manipulation in the ceasefire negotiation process, stressing that Netanyahu does not want to reach an agreement to evade ending up in jail on the charge of his failure to deter Hamas attack on October 7.
Nazzal said, in press remarks on Tuesday, that “Hamas statement on Thursday does not reject engaging in the negotiations planned for next Thursday. Rather, it demands a clarification of the practical formulas so that negotiations do not return to square one and continue from where the last rounds ended.”
The Hamas official said, “the media leaks about a deal and Israel’s request to hand over the names of 33 Israeli prisoners held by Palestinian factions in Gaza, are mere attempts to disrupt the negotiation process,” stressing that “if the agreement on the basic principles is not announced, we will not proceed to discuss further details.”
“The day after the war is Palestinian par excellence,” he said, noting that, “the Israeli occupation or any external forces will not be allowed to interfere in its management and it will not be included in the terms of the negotiations. We will not give up on that.”
Nazzal concluded by saying “any attempts by the Israeli occupation or the Americans to impose a new ‘Karzai’ model to rule Gaza will definitely fail,” revealing that “the management of the Rafah crossing has not been discussed yet, and in general, the management of the crossing and everything related to the Gaza Strip is a Palestinian affair.”
