The US-British military coalition launched three airstrikes on the Salif area in Yemen’s Red Sea port city of Hodeidah on Wednesday, the Ansarullah-run al-Masirah TV reported.

Al-Masirah satellite channel did not provide information about casualties or other details. There was also no immediate comment from the US or Britain on the attacks.

Local residents reported that they heard explosions and saw black smoke rising from the bombed site in Salif, adding that they also saw ambulances rushing to the scene.

Salif, located northwest of the port city, has been frequently hit by strikes from US and British warplanes and vessels.

The attack came a few hours after two cargo ships, one in the Red Sea and the other in the Gulf of Aden, were reportedly hit by Yemeni missiles, drones, and unmanned boats.

Since November last year, Yemen’s Ansarullah group has been launching anti-ship missiles and drone attacks on “Israeli-linked ships” in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden to show solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

In response, the US-British naval coalition stationing in the area has since January conducted regular air raids and missile strikes against military and civilian sites in northern Yemen, killing and injuring dozens of people.
