A Palestinian citizen was martyred and three others were injured on Monday evening when extremist Jewish settlers opened fire at them in Wadi Rahal village, south of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian health ministry said that settlers opened fire at citizens in Wadi Rahal, killing one of them and moderately injuring three others, identifying the martyr as 40-year-old Khalil Khallawi.
Local sources said that a horde of armed settlers launched an attack on homes near the boy school in the village while firing live rounds before local residents confronted them.
The sources added that four villagers suffered bullet injuries as they tried to fend off the settlers before one of them was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
In a separate incident, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed at dawn Tuesday Tulkarem City several hours after they assassinated a group of resistance fighters in Nur Shams refugee camp.
Local sources said that a large number of Israeli troops and vehicles patrolled Tulkarem’s streets hours after a drone bombed a house in Nur Shams camp killing five young men.
Last April, 14 Palestinian citizens were martyred during a two-day IOF attack on Nur Shams camp.
Last July, the Israeli army launched another violent raid on the camp, which continued for about 15 hours, and embarked on destroying homes, buildings, stores and roads.
