The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) withdrew from Tulkarem and its two camps, Tulkarem and Nour Shams, after a two-day large-scale aggression on Thursday evening.
The aggression resulted in the killing of 4 citizens and the injury of several others, in addition to the large-scale destruction of the infrastructure.
Following the IOF’s withdrawal, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and Civil Defense crews were able to enter Nour Shams camp, which witnessed violent raids, burning of homes, arrests, and field investigations.
Witnesses reported that the IOF destroyed main streets, water and sewage networks, uprooted electricity poles, demolished homes, and destroyed vehicles.
Municipal crews began removing the rubble and dirt mounds from the roads in preparation for their rehabilitation in the coming days.
The IOF aggression on Nour Shams camp left great damage to the infrastructure of the main water and sewage network, and to citizens’ properties, including homes, shops, and commercial establishments.
During this aggression, four young men were killed, including a 62-year-old Ayed Mahmoud Abu Al-Haija who was shot in his home in Nour Shams camp, Muhammad Samer Jabe, 26, Majd Majed Daoud, 21, and another unidentified martyr whose identity has not yet been announced as his body was seized by the IOF.
The IOF also detained dozens of young men and subjected them to field investigation that lasted for long hours, where they were subjected to severe beating and abuses.
During the first hours of the aggression, two young men were injured in a drone attack in the Al-Manshiya neighborhood in Nour Shams camp.
The IOF also stormed and violently searched local homes in Nour Shams camp, interrogated their residents, including children, women, and the elderly, and turned a number of them into military barracks.
The Israeli aggression extended to the city and camp of Tulkarem amid a large deployment of heavy machinery and bulldozers and intensive flights of reconnaissance aircraft.
