People in the town of Kafr Dan, west of Jenin, on Wednesday took to the streets to take part in the funeral of the child Lujain Abdul Raouf, 16, who was killed yesterday by Israeli gunfire.
The funeral procession set off from the town of Yamoun, where the martyr girl’s body was kept yesterday in the town’s health center, towards her hometown in Kafr Dan, where a final farewell was given to her in her family’s home before the funeral prayer was performed and then her body was buried in the town’s cemetery.
The child Lujain was martyred after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed the village of Kafr Dan, besieged and demolished the home of the citizen Ashraf Kamamji, and opened fire randomly towards Lujain’s family house killing her inside her home.
Another young man was injured in the Israeli attack by IOF gunfire, receiving a bullet in the thigh after which he was transferred to hospital.
Since Wednesday, August 28, the IOF has been waging a brutal aggression on the northern West Bank, resulting in the martyrdom of 34 citizens, including 19 in Jenin, eight in Tulkarem, four in Tubas, and three in al-Khalil, bringing the death toll in the West Bank to 685 since October 7, 2023.
