The Ministry of Interior and National Security urged citizens in the Gaza Strip to be cautious about providing any information or data through to individuals on the phone claiming to work for charitable organizations or relief institutions, who request detailed information about their residences and family members or neighbors under the pretext of providing assistance, packages, or financial amounts.

The ministry confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that the provision of information or updating data with institutions and associations active in relief work is strictly done through face-to-face interviews or at the known offices of those organizations.

It warned that investigations conducted by relevant authorities have revealed that many of the targeted attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation army on citizens’ homes during the previous period, which resulted in martyrs and injuries, were conducted based on information provided via mobile phone to the Israeli intelligence services impersonating known local and international relief organizations.

It indicated that the authorized entities collecting data for the purpose of providing assistance to citizens and displaced persons do so through face-to-face interviews, not via mobile phone.

The ministry urged citizens not to respond to any calls they receive in this context, regardless of the institution’s name, even if it claims to be a governmental entity. It also called on local media, Palestinian radio stations, and social media activists to contribute to raising awareness among citizens in this regard.
