The Hamas Movement condemned the statements made by US President Joe Biden regarding the killing of the American solidarity activist Aisha Nour Izgi, in which he justified her killing by one of the Israeli soldiers south of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

“In continuation of the blind and unlimited support of the US administration of the Zionist entity, US President Joe Biden made flawed and irresponsible statements about the killing of the American activist, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, at the hands of the Zionist occupation forces,” the Movement said in a statement issued on Wednesday.

President Biden justified Aysenur’s killing by saying that she was killed by mistake as a result of being hit by a bullet that ricocheted back to her after hitting the ground, while he denounces, threatens, and takes immediate action when it comes to false accusations directed at the Palestinian resistance, the statement reads.

“These statements that absolve the occupation of responsibility for the deliberate killing of the American activist are a continuation of the racist policy pursued by the US administration, even towards its citizens according to their religion, color, race, and the party that killed them.”

“These statements also contradict the statements of a number of US officials, including US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who expressed his deep concern that according to the initial investigation conducted by the army, the shooting by the occupation army soldiers led to the killing of an American citizen in the West Bank without justification and without any provocation on her part.”

The Movement called on the US administration to immediately stop this biased policy that has brought nothing but death, destruction, insecurity, and instability to the region, and to take immediate measures to hold accountable the war criminals who have been spreading death everywhere in the Palestinian territories for more than 11 months.
