For the 49th consecutive week, thousands of Moroccans participated on Friday in solidarity rallies in support of the Palestinian people, denouncing the ongoing Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

The solidarity protests were held after the Friday prayer in several cities in the Kingdom including Fes and Muhammediye (north), Kenitra (west), Berkane and Oujda (east), Zagora (southeast), Ait Melloul, Chtouka and Ben Guerir (center), in response to the call made by the “Moroccan Committee for Supporting the Causes of the Nation”.

The protesters demanded continued support for the Palestinian cause and exerting more efforts to bring in humanitarian aid into the besieged Gaza Strip.

The participants chanted slogans calling for putting an end to the Israeli war on Gaza, and allowing aid delivery into the Strip.

The Moroccan protesters waved pictures of the Dome of the Rock of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and photos of the martyr Ismail Haneyya, the head of Hamas political bureau, who was assassinated in the Iranian capital, Tehran, late July.

Abdelhak Benqadi, a member of the organization, said that “the Palestinian people have been subjected to genocide for almost a year by the Israeli occupation army with the US and European support.”

In a speech during a rally in the Oujda city, Benqadi said the “Islamic peoples will not accept Israel,” calling for “stopping normalization with Israel,” and stressing the need “to continue to support the Palestinian cause and resistance.”
