Palestinian journalist and content creator Bisan Owda, 25, won the Emmy International Award for the Outstanding Hard News Feature Story category for her documentary, “It’s Bisan from Gaza – and I’m Still Alive.”
The award came after the National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences (NATAS) had rejected calls to cancel Bisan’s work nomination by 150 Jewish celebrities and media professionals, claiming it is antisemitic.
The work is a documentary short film produced by “Al -Jazeera+/ AJ+” on YouTube, documenting the initial days of the Israeli bombardment and its devastating impact on the Gazan people in the Strip.
