A number of Palestinian citizens suffered from their exposure to tear gas on Friday afternoon when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked an anti-settlement march organized in Beita town, south of Nablus.
According to local sources, the IOF subdued the weekly march staged in Beita town, firing live ammunition and tear gas canisters at local participants.
A number of citizens suffered from inhaling tear gas during the events and received on-site medical assistance.
A Red Crescent ambulance reportedly sustained damage when the IOF attacked it with a tear gas canister near Mount Sobeih in the town.
In recent years, local youths from Beita town and other nearby areas of Nablus started to organize protest events as a form of popular resistance against the Israeli occupation and its settlers, who set up an outpost on Mount Sobeih.
In another incident, several Palestinian citizens suffered from teargas-related injuries after Israeli forces stormed today al-Fawwar refugee camp in southern al-Khalil and embarked on attacking citizens and homes.
The IOF has recently tightened its siege on al-Fawwar camp, while carrying raids on its homes and assaulting local residents almost on a daily basis.
Yesterday, the IOF carried out evening raids in Artas village, south of Bethlehem, and as-Samu town, south of al-Khalil, without making arrests.
Local sources in as-Samu said that Israeli soldiers forced a number of stores to close their doors and prevented citizens from reaching the town’s Grand Mosque to perform the Isha prayer.
Israeli forces also stormed Artas village in southern Bethlehem and patrolled its streets, which provoked clashes with local youths.
