Israeli warplanes launched an unprecedented attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut, at dawn Saturday, displacing tens of thousands of residents.
Successive air raids were reported in Al-Kafaat, Al-Hadath, Al-Laylaki, Al-Shuwaifat, Burj Al-Barajneh and Al-Ghobeiry areas in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
The Israeli aircraft also targeted neighborhoods in Burj Al-Barajneh in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Reports spoke of massive destruction and bloody massacres committed during the overnight airstrikes.
Al Jazeera reported that Israeli warplanes launched more than 30 raids on the southern suburb. The successive raids targeted buildings in the areas of Al-Kafaat, Al-Shoueifat, Al-Hadath and Al-Laylaki.
Hezbollah denied that any weapons or arms depots are located in buildings that were hit in an Israeli strike on Beirut suburbs.
For his part, Lebanese Transport Minister Ali Hamieh said that Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut is a “civilian airport par excellence.”
This came in response to the Israeli threats to target Beirut airport.
