The Israeli occupation army on Monday acknowledged the death of two soldiers in clashes with Hezbollah, while Hezbollah announced that it shelled Haifa for the second time during the day. The Israeli army stated that a reserve soldier was killed in a confrontation with Hezbollah elements at the Lebanese border. Earlier today, it also reported the death of another soldier and the serious injury of two others in ongoing battles with Hezbollah at the border with Lebanon.
According to observers, Israel is keeping quiet about the human and material losses resulting from military confrontations with Hezbollah and its ground battles in the Gaza Strip. It is preventing photography and the circulation of images and videos, warning against providing any information to the media on this subject, except through media outlets that are subject to its strict censorship.
Meanwhile, Israeli bombardment of several areas in Lebanon continued. The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that ten firefighters were martyred in an Israeli strike on the building of the Union of Municipalities of Bint Jbeil. This brings the number of paramedics and rescue workers killed since the escalation between Hezbollah and Israel to over 115.
Israeli aircraft launched further raids on the southern suburb of Beirut, with flames and smoke rising from the targeted area due to heavy bombing by Israeli warplanes. The sound of successive explosions was heard following the bombardment. Additionally, the aircraft targeted the vicinity of Beirut’s international airport.
For its part, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that six people, including three children, were killed due to an Israeli airstrike on Qamatia in Mount Lebanon last night. In contrast, Hezbollah said that it attacked areas north of Haifa in Israel with a barrage of rockets, marking the second attack on Monday after the party rained rockets down on the coastal city in the early hours of the morning.
The statement read, “In support of our steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza and in solidarity with their brave and honorable resistance, and in defense of Lebanon and its people, and in response to the barbaric Israeli aggression against cities, villages, and civilians, the fighters of the Islamic Resistanc targeted a number of locations north of Haifa with a large rocket barrage.”
In the early hours of the morning, Hezbollah fired rockets at military sites in both Haifa and Tiberias, resulting in injuries to ten people. Earlier today, the party announced that it targeted a gathering of Israeli army vehicles and soldiers behind the Jall al-Allam site and the settlements of Karmiel and Kfar Vradim with rocket fire. It also reported that its forces shelled a gathering of Israeli forces behind the gate of the town of Ramish with a rocket barrage.
The Israeli army radio reported that a rocket fell in western Galilee, causing significant damage to several vehicles in the town of Kfar Vradim, with no human injuries reported. Channel 12 in Israel said that about 35 rockets were launched from Lebanon toward Karmiel and Kfar Vradim in the latest barrage, while other Israeli media reported today that at least three rockets fired from Lebanon landed in Kfar Vradim in western Galilee.
Rambam Hospital in Haifa announced it had received six injuries so far due to the rocket strikes in Haifa. Hezbollah said, “We targeted the Carmel base south of Haifa with ‘Fadi 1’ rockets in defense of Lebanon and its people.” The Israeli occupation army reported that five rockets were launched from Lebanon toward Haifa, and the defenses failed to intercept them, while the Israeli Broadcasting Authority announced that two people sustained moderate to severe injuries in Tiberias due to the rocket launches toward the city. Channel 12 reported the suspension of classes and a shift to remote learning in some schools in the city following the rocket strikes.
Since September 23, Israel has expanded the scope of the genocide it is committing in Gaza since October 7, 2023, to include most areas of Lebanon, including the capital Beirut, through unprecedented and intensive airstrikes, and has begun a ground incursion in the south, disregarding international warnings and UN resolutions.
According to official figures, 2,044 people have been martyred, and 9,678 injured in Lebanon since the start of mutual shelling on October 8, 2023, including 1,212 martyrs and 3,427 wounded, many of whom are children and women, along with more than 1.2 million displaced persons since Israel began its extensive war on Lebanon on September 23 until last night. In response, Hezbollah retaliates against the aggression by launching rockets, drones, and artillery shells targeting Israeli military sites and settlements.
