Israeli special forces in civilian clothing stormed on Wednesday evening the northern West Bank city of Nablus and opened fire on a Palestinian vehicle, killing four Palestinian youths.
The Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that four Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in the Eastern Market area of Nablus.
Footage widely shared on social media showed an undercover Israeli unit sneaking into the city and opening gunfire on a vehicle.
Palestinian factions have called for a general strike on Thursday in Nablus in protest against the murder of the four young men.
Commenting on the incident, the Hamas Movement considered the attack a heinous Israeli crime that is added to the occupation’s record of terrorism.
Hamas mourned “the martyrs who were killed in the cowardly assassination,” adding that “the resistance in Nablus and all the governorates of the West Bank will remain unbreakable despite the brutality of the occupation.”
The Palestinian people and their steadfast resistance will remain an impregnable dam that confronts the occupation and its settlers in the West Bank, the Movement said.
