The Iranian supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and President Masoud Pezeshkian, expressed their condolences for the martyrdom of the head of Hamas political bureau, Yahya Al-Sinwar, in the Gaza Strip.

Khamenei said in a press release on Saturday that Al-Sinwar gave the Israeli occupation a strong slap on October 7 that will never be erased from the history of the region, stressing that the resistance will not halt its progress in wake of the martyrdom of Al-Sinwar, similarly as it did not after the martyrdom of its eminent figurers.

“Hamas is alive and will stay alive,” Khamenei said, adding that the martyr “Al-Sinwar was the bright face of resistance and struggle, as he stood in the face of the unjust enemy.”

For his part, Pezeshkian pointed out that the martyrdom of Al-Sinwar does not affect the progress of resistance, but represents clear evidence of the ongoing Israeli crimes.

The Iranian Tasnim Agency quoted Pezeshkian, as praising Al-Sinwar’s virtues and his significant role in the Palestinian resistance and 20-year-long detention in Israeli occupation prisons.

On Thursday, the Iranian mission to the United Nations in New York published, on its account on X, that the martyrdom of Al-Sinwar will strengthen the resistance. He will “become a model for young generations who will follow in his footsteps towards liberation,” it added.
