The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza has announced that the number of martyred journalists in the beleaguered enclave had risen to 188 after four journalists were killed in Israeli bombing.
The GMO said that journalist Al-Zahra’a Mohammed was killed along with her brother the journalist Ahmed Mohammed in an Israeli shelling that targeted a school in Gaza at dawn Saturday. They were both working with the media network “News”.
Two other journalists working for Palestine Ajel (Urgent) news website were killed in Israeli bombing in Gaza City, GMO said, identifying them as journalist Mustafa Khader and his brother photojournalist Abdulrahman Khader.
The Office condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli targeting of Palestinian journalists and called on the international community and all organizations concerned with journalistic work to deter such Israeli crimes against journalists and to bring to account all those responsible in addition to pressuring Israel to end its genocide in Gaza.
