The Israeli army assassinated on Sunday Hezbollah media relations chief, Muhammad Afif, in an Israeli strike on the Ras al-Nabaa area in central Beirut, according to a Lebanese security source.
Al-Jazeera TV quoted the source as saying that an Israeli strike targeted a building belonging to the Baath Party in the downtown area of the capital Beirut, which led to a large displacement of residents, especially that the area was considered relatively safe.
Following the raid, the Israeli army radio revealed that “Muhammad Afif, the media relations official in Hezbollah, was the target of the assassination operation in Beirut.”
Hezbollah has not commented on the assassination news, but the Lebanese Ministry of Health said that “one person was martyred, and three others were injured in the Israeli attack on the Ras al-Nabaa area in Beirut.”
Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli air force launched at least 27 raids targeting the southern suburb of Beirut and various areas in southern Lebanon, resulting in the destruction of several homes.
The Israeli aggression on Lebanon has so far resulted in a total of 3,452 martyrs and 14,664 wounded, including a large number of children and women, in addition to about 1.4 million displaced.
